While this photo is cute, it does not do him much justice, so what lookes like a lot of fat is actually muscle. His father is the same build (he is an orange tabby that hangs out around my mothers townhome and fights raccoons). His brother is also about 13 pounds.
We felt the same way for a while (thinking he was to fat) so we took him to the vet, they said he was fine just a big build.
This cat and his brother are my parents cats, they don't free feed them, they portion control their animal's food (They have to or the dog would eat everything).
Want to know what the weird part is?
His mother, is not over 3 pounds... she was the runt.
It is weird when you see him next to the momma though.
They likely started the fight though, if that makes you feel any better.

It is weird that he and his brother are so big, but I guess when you have a 25 pound father (I'm not even kidding) you can end up being very big as well.
Omg kill a raccoon? He must be quite strong he certainly looks it.He a beauty though.
